A Mid-Morning Family Session Full of Sunshine & Snuggles in Rapid City

The Peters crew—gosh, I just adore them. When Abby reached out about updating their family photos (and sharing some big news about their newest little love!), I knew we had to make it something special. So we kept it simple and sweet: blankets, a little pretend picnic, and a setting that felt just right for their busy toddlers.

We knocked out the “Christmas card” shot right away—easy peasy. Then we let the kids take the lead. We picked wildflowers, played with the picnic set, wandered wherever their little feet took us, and wrapped it all up with some playground time. The best sessions? They’re the ones that feel more like play than posing. Where we follow the magic of childhood instead of forcing it.
