It’s been a minute since I’ve shared here, but this session deserves its spotlight. As summer fades and fall picks up steam, I’m easing back into the rhythm of photographing families against the wild, golden backdrop of the Black Hills.
When Emma reached out about a session at their family cabin near Keystone—complete with her sweet kiddos and a litter of Bernese Mountain Dog puppies—I didn’t hesitate for a second. It was the kind of evening that makes Black Hills lifestyle family photos so special: unhurried, real, rooted in place.
We let the little ones lead. We played and picked daisies, stuffed pockets full of wildflowers, and took breaks to snuggle wiggly Berner pups. These photos aren’t just about smiling at the camera, they’re about memory-making. About belonging to a place, and to each other.
More of this, always.
